Injury Wizard Founder and Senior Physiotherapist Katie Collier is passionate about helping her clients reduce their pain and dysfunction, getting them back to doing what they love!
After graduating from the University of Queensland with Honours in 2016, Katie has spent the past 8 years working in Private Practices in Brisbane and Ipswich as well as doing further education and professional development in areas such as Pilates, Dry Needling, Functional Release Cupping, Taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation and Instrument Assisted Neurosensory Modulation as well as casual learning about a variety of different injuries, treatment options and approaches within and outside of Physiotherapy.
An AHPRA Registered Physiotherapist and member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Katie has always loved being a Physio and has chosen not to specialise into any niche areas as she prefers the variety of conditions, patient demographics, challenges and opportunities that she sees in general musculoskeletal work. Katie loves working with her clients to diagnose their conditions and collaborate on treatment plans; chatting to clients, hearing their stories and sharing in their successes.
Katie places a big emphasis on delivering
high quality hands on treatment
as well as exercise prescription,
ensuring her clients get a
comprehensive, well rounded service.
She believes education is a powerful tool and strives to teach her clients the "why" as well as the "how" when it comes to injury rehabilitation and maintenance, as having a solid understanding of the injury and plan reduces anxiety and empowers people to take an active role in their recovery and improve their engagement with the rehabilitation process!
Like many things, the landscape of Physiotherapy Treatment changed throughout the early 2020's with COVID-19, social distancing, mandated lockdowns, a general trend of working remotely and everything taking a digital step into the online world.
Katie was fortunate to have been able to continue seeing clients during COVID-19, but soon realised there were too many people unable to get to a Physiotherapy clinic due to health, financial or geographical restrictions. And so, the idea of Injury Wizard was born...
The Physio that's here to help, without having to be "here"!
Injury Wizard is about making Physiotherapy accessible to as many people as possible, helping as many people as possible, and empowering people with the appropriate know-how, skill sets and tools to remedy their own niggles when a Physiotherapist can’t do it for them. It's not about replacing in-person Physiotherapy Treatment as that will always have a valuable place in healthcare and some things just aren't appropriate for a DIY approach, but it gives a good portion of those who can't access a clinic in-person an alternative avenue of benefitting from Physiotherapy intervention in way that works for them.
Katie has now also established the Injury Wizard Clinic, which allows her to continue seeing clients whilst also having dedicated time to work on creating more content for the Injury Wizard App and Online Store, expanding the Injury Wizard rehab catalogue and providing many exciting new adventures and pathways for the future!
